Our (informed) society

I frequently like to discuss current afairs, not because they are fun but because they belong to the history of our days. In some years from now I will be able to say that I lived all the world conflicts of the early XXI century and that fortunately I was informed enough to know what was happening and why. We are the lucky ones, young adults with access to all sources of information, not just from brain washed newspapers but also from citizens who are living these moments of history in real life and are able to share quotes, images and even videos with all of us, all around the world. When I am discussing certain situations with people as young as I and they do not have any clue of what I am talking about, is when I start to wonder what is wrong with our society. People do not care and do not want to be bothered to care. All of this conversation because of a simple click on the BBC website where I found the most popular articles shared on the Internet today: 

What the hell is wrong with people? Even the fact that Cyprus asked for bailout help from the EU is more important than all of this crap.
